Overview
NEET; Young People Your new company Hays are currently working with the London Borough Of Haringey supporting them across all divisions within their social care teams. Your new role The post holder will be engaged in activities to ensure the London Borough of Haringey meets its requirements relating to young people's participation in education, employment and training and Raising the Participation Age as outlined in statutory guidance. This includes assisting with the tracking, monitor and support young people into positive destinations. The post holder will, contribute to, and support the implementation of Haringey's RPA strategy. They will develop good relations with: schools, colleges, employers, other providers of education and other key stakeholders to ensure effective support is in place for young people and challenge where that is not the case. In particular: To track young people who are NEET or who are at risk of becoming NEET and other young people that the services are trying to trace To reduce the number of young people whose current activities and/or whereabouts are 'not known'. To ensure the database of young people's details is kept up to date. To make appropriate referrals/ requests for service for those young people who may require further support. Support the Progression Adviser in the delivery of Statutory responsibilities based around RPA, NEETs, Participation and the September Guarantee process. Working to lists provided, make contact by telephone or face to face with young people with whom the Service is seeking to engage. Check tracking lists to identify last contact with a front line worker and where appropriate make contact to encourage the young people to re-engage. Liaise with other teams and agencies to source data and help track young people who are currently NEET and at risk of becoming Not Known, e.g. training providers, Electoral Services, Benefits, DWP/Job Centre Plus, learning providers, Mosaic and LRS. Undertake door knocking exercises to contact young people who cannot be contacted by telephone or letter complying with health and safety regulations What you'll need to succeed Hays DBS enhanced disclosure or a DBS registered on the Update Service Able to work flexibly outside 9:00am - 5:00pm office hours including evenings and weekends when needed to meet the needs of families. Compliance to Health and Safety at Work, Data Protection and other statutory requirements. Commitment to the principles of equalities and to be able to carry out duties in accordance with Council Equalities Policy. Willingness and ability to work and travel across the borough (with reasonable adjustments made where required). Understanding, knowledge and ability to follow guidelines that ensure compliance to Health and Safety at Work, Data Protection and other statutory requirements.
