Our client is looking for Health & Safety Engineer


Requirements

Bachelor's degree In Occupational Health & Safety or related field. Certificate in health & Safety (NEBOSH or OSHA or Equivalent)

At least 3- 5 years in Senior Health & Safety position within construction project/mining.

Strong knowledge of relevant Health & Safety regulations and standards.

Willingness to work in a remote location.

Advanced computer skills.

Developed interpersonal skills.

Excellent decision making, problem solving and priority setting skills.

Developed cultural awareness and sensitivity.


Responsibilities

Safety Risk Assessments: Conduct regular and thorough safety risk assessments, hazard identification, and evaluations across the mine site to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.

Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations, environmental standards, and industry best practices. Prepare and submit reports to relevant authorities as required.

Safety Systems Management: Develop, implement, and continuously improve site-specific health and safety programs, policies, and procedures in alignment with mine safety standards and regulations.

Incident Investigation: Lead the investigation of any accidents, incidents, or near-misses, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

Training & Education: Develop and deliver safety training programs and workshops to educate workers on safe work practices, emergency response procedures, and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Safety Audits & Inspections: Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of mine operations, machinery, and equipment, ensuring they meet safety standards and are in proper working order.

Emergency Response Planning: Assist in developing and maintaining emergency response plans, ensuring that all personnel are familiar with procedures in the event of a fire, equipment failure, or other emergency.

Safety Culture Promotion: Champion the development and maintenance of a safety-conscious culture among all mine employees, encouraging proactive reporting of hazards and unsafe practices.

Data Reporting & Analysis: Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, training sessions, and inspections. Analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement.

Collaboration with Teams: Work closely with management, supervisors, and operational teams to resolve safety concerns and ensure that safety measures are being followed at all levels of the mine operation.
