As a supervisor within the physical training department you will use your extensive knowledge of working with colleagues, partners and communities, skills and experience to assist you in evaluating learning and development programmes. You will work alongside training colleagues on a regional and national level to ensure that our programmes are of the highest quality and support operational delivery. By joining the team you will have an exciting first-hand influence on new officers / staff members joining WMP who are undertaking the PCDA or DHEP programmes, as well as developing serving officers and staff members within core and specialist operational arenas. WMP's Organisation Development & Learning department are seeking creative training methods to be more inclusive to our workforce and you will be responsible for devising new approaches to delivering learning to wider audiences through a variety of means, using technological and interactive methods where possible. You will provide training subject matter expertise and advice and know where to find your subject matter experts within policing and beyond. You will be an excellent communicator being able to deal effectively with people on a one to one basis and in larger groups. The successful candidate will have to pass Security Clearance vetting. Skills, Abilities and Qualifications: Essential * Good knowledge of Diversity and Inclusion issues including legislation. * Demonstrable experience of managing and developing a team with clear evidence of output * Evidence of successfully planning and organising work with short and long term timeframes * Able to work without direct supervision and make complex decisions without the need to refer for guidance * Evidence of successfully planning and progressing a series of work within general guidelines, using initiative and judgement without recourse to senior members of staff * Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build effective working relationships across a spectrum of stakeholders, internal and external * Effective written and verbal communication skills to ensure clear, accurate and appropriate sharing of information. * An understanding of training and development principles, including quality assurance and continued professional development. * Evidence of interpretation and application of relevant legislation or regulations * Broad vocational experience demonstrating general knowledge of technical/professional practice and development through involvement in a series of progressively more demandin * relevant work experience. * Able to use IT and software packages where appropriate Desirable: * Supervisory experience gained at an appropriate level, encompassing successful development of staff * Proven team management and operational experience * Hold or working towards a recognised teaching qualification as a minimum of PTRLDP and/or Level 3 training qualification on the Qualificatio
