Job Description
Mid Essex Hospital Services NHS Trust is a large acute Trust, serving a population of circa 350,000, employing over 4,000 staff and with an annual turnover of 200m. The main site, Broomfield Hospital, is situated 4 miles from Chelmsford town centre, 35 minutes by rail to London, and has excellent links to the East Coast resorts and Stansted Airport. We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and highly motivated cancer nurse to join our cancer nursing team to support patients with a diagnosis of lung cancer. You will be joining an established and dynamic team who are looking to drive up standards and maintain excellent patient care. The post is suited to someone with proven cancer nursing skills, educated to degree level, with a recognised teaching qualification and proven advanced communication skills. You will have significant experience of caring for this patient group. You will be required to independently manage a patient caseload, advising medical, nursing and AHP staff on all aspects of care for patients with lung cancer. We are able to offer you clinical supervision and have strong links with Anglia Ruskin University that will afford the opportunity to study relevant courses. This is a full time band 7 post but we will consider applicants for band 6 as a development post for the right candidate An informal visit is strongly recommended.
