Job Description

This post is jointly funded by BSMS, Health Education England and BSUH NHS Trust, and its focus is on enhancing the quality of Trust-based education and training, as perceived by trainees and Trusts. This post, at Higher Specialty Trainee level, involves carrying out various projects in leadership, research and education within the Medical Education department, in the role of Leadership and Education Fellow. The post-holder will be particularly focused on considering the feedback from the GMC survey, and Fellows will have a priority focus on support for areas receiving red flags or requiring development or improvement. The Leadership & Education Fellow roles will also focus on developing the HST's own education and leadership capability The post is structured as follows: * 2 days per week working with the Senior Trust Leaders and the Education Team to identify education issues, support trainees, and develop service improvement approaches to change aspects of the local educational offer. * About 1 day per week (depending on module dates) undertaking a postgraduate study and qualification at Brighton and Sussex Medical School. * The remaining time are allocated to clinical duties which may include 1 long day per week and weekend on call cover as part of the 1:7 regular middle grade rota.
