Overview Responsible for the development, design, specification, and services related to floating offshore vessels including mooring systems, marine systems and marine equipment primarily for floating production and riser systems, marine construction vessels, floating drilling units, offshore support vessels and other trading ships. Also responsible for technical solutions of marine installation and removal phases of offshore structures, including load-out, transportation, lift, launch, and float-over mating type of operations and for related marine construction services. Under broad direction, functions as a technical specialist who makes decisions and recommendations that are recognized as authoritative and have a far reaching impact on extensive engineering and related activities of the company. Negotiates critical and controversial issues with top-level engineers and officers of other organizations and companies. Performs advisory and consulting work for the organisation as a recognised authority for broad program areas or in an intensely specialised area. Job role contributes directly to value creation. Skills are typically acquired through an undergraduate degree in Engineering and extensive related experience, with average experience. At this level, the individual generally will have contributed inventions, new designs, or techniques, which are of material significance in the solution of important problems. Incumbents at this level will usually be Chartered Engineers.
