Do you have substantial accounting experience in a busy, forward-thinking and tightly run business? We are looking for a Management Accountant to join our team in Manchester on a 12 month Fixed Term Contract basis. Your expert knowledge and insight will help to support with the preparation, development and analysis of key financial information. You provide a first class support service by partnering with our business areas and leading colleagues on all aspects of finance. At Gallagher we see diversity as a strength. Your Role: * You are an integral part of our finance team, responsible for maintaining the companies' financial books and records. This includes: monthly management reporting, statutory and regulatory reporting. * You support your Financial Controller and Deputy Finance Director. Ensuring account reconciliations are produced to the required standard and on time. It's a dynamic and challenging role that needs to see you at your most ambitious. Also within your remit are these tasks: * Internal & External Rebates & Referrals reporting and payment reconciliation. * Cover for Finance Operations Manager and reconciliations ad hoc of Client fees and commission accounts. * Assisting Trainee Management Accountant with ME routine and contribute to the monthly management accounts, forecasts and budgets. At times throughout the year we may need your help in supplying information to external auditors for the annual audit, is this something you've done before? * Have you experienced a better way of working? We'd love to hear your ideas for improvements; we're big fans of process and would be interested to see if ours can be leaner. * We are a growing organisation where Natural growth is important to us but so are our acquisitions. We will look to your expertise to support us with the integration of new acquisitions into the group. A little more about you: * You have a good standard of general education including Maths and English; are Part Qualified or fully Qualified CIMA or ACCA. You possess a deep knowledge of financial accounting transactions and although previous insurance experience would be deeply advantageous it's not critical. * You take real pride in being commercially astute with a hands-on approach. You sport a natural ability to explain financials to non-finance colleagues; this is a talent that will truly make a difference to our daily needs. * Excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills in all formats and the ability to quickly notice and resolve problems and seek advice when required are all traits that will craft your success. * Excellent organisation skills, competent working to tight deadlines and managing multiple tasks.
