A day in the life of a Payroll Manager We are on the hunt for a Payroll Manager to join our team who can help grow, shape and maintain our founder and startup community. You'll be a commercial-minded and an incredibly effective process-driven manager, with strong communication skills, and robust solutions. You'll feel right at home in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and pride yourself on having a roll-up-the-sleeves mentality. You'll be hands-on in the day-to-day by spending time across three key areas: Portfolio of large payrolls for our larger high growth funded client base * Maintain client payroll records for all staff, including setting up new records, amendments to pay details, updating for leavers and any other adjustments. * Arranging payments for salaries where necessary, PAYE and pension payments for some clients. Submission of information to HMRC under RTI. Process weekly, monthly and quarterly payroll runs. * Client Payroll Enquiries by answering general client queries by written correspondence and by telephone. Dealing with HMRC correspondence. * Payroll Administration by processing P45s, Maternity Pay, statutory sick pay and other statutory payments & deductions.Filing and file preparation. * Basic administration and entry of data in respect of Client Payrolls. * Year-End Procedures to produce P60s and reconcile PAYE and NI deductions for the year. Wider team payroll champion for queries and issues that arise on the wider startup client base * Point of contact for the team at ihorizon to discuss issues and areas that arisen in the month on the payroll for their specific client in their portfolio * Point of contact for clients across the business where the teams need help to explain complicated payroll matters of suggestions to remedy any issues or concerns our clients have * To ensure the team is up to date with the latest training and developments in payroll legislation and practices. Be a change champion for integrating our clients on to an innovative tech solution that supports them on payroll and HR matters and allows seamless communication of information from client to payroll preparation * Pitch the service and agree terms [SLA and timeline] with our clients to migrate them on to the software * Work with the teams to identify target clients and work with them to transition the clients on to the new software * Lead on all things around the software to troubleshoot and resolve queries where needed * Aim to have a target number of clients using the software and adopting the new process in your first 3 months with us You should apply if you have: Significant experience of working on payrolls within the UK and internationally Thorough knowledge of payroll legislation and keeping up to date with new legislation. Knowledge of Word & Excel essential. Flexibility to visit clients to administer payrolls on site. Process management experience, with a keen eye for risk and control Strong analytical skills and background, financial acumen and attention to detail. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively cross-functionally and globally in a growing and fast-changing environment Understanding and detailed working knowledge of the UK Tax regimes (bonus if you have knowledge of Expat/Inpat Tax and Benefit regimes!) Acting as a point of contact for all payroll questions from all stakeholders Owning the payroll processes, and revising as necessary, taking into account new legislation changes, growth and risk factors Working closely with our payroll vendors, ensuring a strong working relationship and the highest standard of service levels Providing support on all payroll related projects including internal and external audits and annual reporting What we offer An opportunity to work with the world's leading tech startups .
