Consultant Physician with an interest in Stroke Medicine

Job Description
We are expanding our workforce and developing our stroke service in line with the reconfiguration of stroke services in Kent. We are centralising our acute stroke work (HASU and ASU) on the Maidstone site and are creating a brand new unit to meet the needs of our population. The successful candidate would be expected to support and lead on service development. Applicants should be on the Specialist Register for Stroke Medicine or an appropriately linked specialty eg geriatrics, neurology , acute medicine and be within 6 months of CCT on the interview date. As an organisation, we offer flexible job plans and will support individuals who wish to develop specialist interests such as research, education and teaching. The Trust is closely involved in establishing the newest medical school in the country and is working alongside Kent & Canterbury Christ Church Universities to ensure the development of a modern training programme and curricula. Opportunities for those with interests in specific projects, service development and managerial roles will also be considered. If you are a first-time consultant we can offer you additional funding for CPD in areas such as management, leadership and clinical skills. We also run a successful mentorship scheme. This hospital sites are both located within a short distance of town centres, offering a range of amenities including shops, bars and restaurants and are on the doorstep of some of Kent's most beautiful countryside - the best of both worlds! There are fantastic travel links in Kent with key motorways such as the M2 and M20 and with excellent accessibility to both London and the continent by train. In West Kent there are many high-performing schools ranging from pre-school and primary to secondary school education, including excellent grammar schools, special needs schools and some of the top private education institutions in the country.
