Role overview LIM, an expanding division of the Legal Insurance Management Group (LIM Group), has an exciting 12-month placement within our Legal Expenses Insurance (LEI) Claims Handling Team for a Legal Graduate. The Position When you arrive, you will receive an induction and all the training necessary for you to be able to hit the ground running and assess LEI claims alongside our existing Claims Handlers. You will have the opportunity to handle a variety of claims, including landlord and tenant disputes, travel disputes, identity theft cases, criminal cases, and possibly others depending on the capability you demonstrate. You will be responsible for reviewing legal disputes encountered by our clients, and assessing them against an insurance policy. This also involves using your legal knowledge to assess the merits of each claim, and progressing or repudiating it accordingly. Where claims are accepted, you may be asked to handle it in-house, or pass it to one of our panel solicitors, at which point you must manage the conduct of the case, ensuring its progress whilst managing costs to the business. You will be allocated your own caseload of claims to handle, but will be working as part of a team and supported by experienced Claims Handlers, Senior Claims Handlers and Solicitors, all of whom aim to provide a superlative service to our policyholders.
