Job Title - System Tester Contract - Permanent Salary - GBP30,000 - GBP35,000 Location - South East London / Kent Industry - Software Provider / IT _________________________________________________________________________________ My client who is a fast pace Software Company based in South East London/Kent, who develop Life & Pension software packages for the Insurance Industry. Due to rapid growth my client are looking for a System Tester. The successful candidate will undertake the creation of test cases based on business Used Cases or requirements, functional test execution, identifying bugs and recreating reported issues. Creating and maintaining test automation scripts with in-house testing tools. Contributing to Release Notes and documentation. Desirable Skills and Knowledge:- People Skills: - A natural curiosity and good judgement skills - Quick Learner with great initiative to do things - Patient and the ability to pay attention to detail - Great communication skills - written and verbal - Work in a dynamic environment with the ability to work under pressure - Good team player - Working effectively and efficiently to meet any internal or external deadline Role Responsibilities:- - Carrying out functional testing, integration testing and performance testing - Preparing Test plans and Writing User Stories - Test case execution and Test case management using JIRA Agile - Raising, documenting and tracking test bugs in JIRA - Communicating and working close with analysts and developers - Running manual and automated tests - Developing and maintaining automated test cases using an in-house Selenium based tool - Ad hoc projects as required Skills Required:- Business Knowledge: · Good understanding of Life and Pensions (New Business, Underwriting, Contract Servicing, Claims) · Good understanding of the Software Development Lifecyle process Test Knowledge: · Prepare test plans and user stories, documentation · Test execution best practices · Regression testing methodologies · Defect triage and defect re-test · Performance testing Technical Skills: · Using MS SQL to write basic queries · Selenium IDE experience (Ideal) · Any Automation experience or API testing · Proficient use of MS Excel - Qualifications: - Bachelors degree (2.1 or above) in the following subjects would be preferable: Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial, Computer Science, Information Technologies - We would expect the applicant to have ISTQB Test Foundation level (or higher) - but this will not be an eliminating factor, however they would be expected to pass the exam during the probation period.
