Overview
We are looking for caring and dedicated Support Worker for our Peach and Lynray service providing residential, bespoke packages of care and support to young adults with learning disabilities. Thi will be covering a maternity contract on a full time basis Peach Cottage is a two-bed service alongside Lynray. Lynray is a large chalet bungalow which has 3 single bedrooms, each decorated to meet individual tastes, choices and sensory needs. Communal areas in both properties include a kitchen, dining room, living room and outside patio area, which can be used for recreational and leisure pursuits by all individuals. In addition, there is a bespoke one-bed annexe within Lynray. Peach Cottage and Lynray are situated in the village of Rayne in the Braintree district of Essex in the East of England. Rayne has pubs, restaurants and a village green that frequently has sports matches that residents can watch including cricket. Peach and Lynray use person-centred planning to support people to live the life they choose, make decisions, enhance their daily living and independence skills, understand their rights and responsibilities and access local communities for work, education and training and leisure opportunities. Staff are available 24 hours a day including waking night staff when required. Does this sound like something you could do? Your duties will include: Supporting individuals to plan and engage in activities in line with their individualised activity planner, which could include holidays, social events, religious and sporting activities, education and employment. Maintain the general health, wellbeing and emotional needs of the people we support. Encouraging individuals to access a range of opportunities and experiences. Supporting individuals to keep in contact with family and friends, and to participate in social and community activities. And, of course, you need to ensure that the dignity and choice of the people we support is preserved at all times.
