Overview
Our client are market leaders in the manufacture of quality cast signs to the commercial and private sector. The company has been in business for over 40 years. They need a person to help them make their sign patterns for casting in polyurethane, bronze, aluminium, brass and grp. The company casts polyurethane in house and sends patterns to various foundries for casting in metals. The castings are returned to them to fettle and paint/polish. While some of the work is exacting, some is also tending artistic where we make relief modellings of churches, cars, aeroplanes etc. to make patterns for village signs etc. Duties will include working in the casting and paint spray areas as well. Training will be given to the right person. Skills that may be useful are engineering, model making, CNC and drawing experience. The position could be full time or part time - 3 days a week. Salary negotiable. The company employs 12 people who are highly experienced in their specialised fields. They are always striving to streamline their methods, introduce new products so there will be an element of research and development that runs through the work. Nearly everything they make is a unique design so problem solving and thinking outside the box is an every day occurrence. They are looking for someone who is willing to generate new ideas to increase productivity and work closely with the rest of the employees. Key Experience/Qualifications: Pattern making or carpentry skills Sign manufacture and asset Drawing software experience CNC experience Key Responsibilities: Helping to make the patterns for cast signs Interpreting the design from our customers Assisting in all parts of sign manufacture About the Company The company manufactures quality signs for local authorities, builders, architects and larger estates. The workshop is in a small village and so own transport is essential.
