The company is now seeking nearshore Bargemasters based from our Falmouth, Cornwall location. The Nearshore Bargemaster role is critical to the successful operation of Nearshore sites, being the practical controller of all marine and drilling operations. The role is critical to ensuring that the marine sites are operated safely, efficiently and according to the Company standards and procedures. The Bargemaster effectively communicates with and supports the Project Management teams and office operational staff whilst supervising and developing the field crews. The condition and maintenance of equipment whilst in the field is managed by the Bargemaster. Roles and Responsibilities The duties and responsibilities associated with this position include, but are not limited to the following: Maintain concise and regular communication with all appropriate parties, to ensure the requirements of the project and vessel owners are being met. Provide comprehensive advice and information to the client and site team. Direct the barge/drill crew to ensure operations are completed as defined by the project documentation and RAMS; use dictated methodology at all times. Co-ordinate subcontractors, site visitors and associated logistics relating to the jack-up. Undertake all jack-up movements safely and in-line with the vessel/project documentation and relevant limitations. Liaise with any shoreside logistics and third-party vessels regarding integrated vessel movements, including crew changes. Support the production of operational methodology, planning and project set up. Remain flexible with working locations as necessary; site, office or workshop. Manage a Permit to Work system onboard and ensure it is adhered to at all times. Ensure all plant is in test, fit for use and maintained according to the PPM scheme. Required skills and experience Experience within the jack-up and/or geotechnical industry Experience in managing a field team IJUBOA, marine orientated qualifications or other industry-related training would be beneficial. Qualifications for First Aid, RYA certification and CSCS/CPCS qualifications will be required to work on-site. NVQ/BDA in drilling when fulfilling the Drilling Supervisor/Superintendent and Bargemaster dual role. Basic understanding of Microsoft Office Word and Excel will be required. Competencies Set an example to the crew and manage individual’s strengths and areas for development on site. Liaise with the Client Representative onboard the jack-up and maintain a Client focused approach. Maintain focus on the project targets throughout the work scope. Lead and guide the crew through any changes that need to be implemented by the Service Line, Business Line or Company, such as HSSEQ initiatives or acceptance of new procedures.
