THE MOST RESPECTED HOSPITAL IN LEEDS - £16.95 per hour - £18.00 per hour ELDERLY WARD NURSE 24 - 48 hours per week Reporting to: Unit Manager Scope: To establish and maintain the highest standard of care. To deliver nursing care in one of the most respected hospitals in the North of England To supervise the performance of staff in the clinical areas To deputise for Senior Sister/Senior Charge Nurse Duties and Responsibilities: Plans, manages, provides and evaluates nursing care services for patients, implements and supervises the implementation of nursing care plans. Continuously assesses the care dependency and needs of patients and whether the care provided is appropriate for their condition. Establishes and maintains good relationships between residents, relatives and staff. Participates in the Residents’ Activity Programme. Monitors patient’s progress, administers and controls drugs and medication, applies surgical dressings and gives other forms of treatment in accordance Company Policy, UKCC and Health Board guidelines. Undertakes direct nursing care as necessary. Adheres to the Company’s Policies and Procedures and ensures that subordinates are fully conversant with them. Improves and updates professional knowledge. Assists with the training of all staff in the clinical area and advises on nursing care, disease prevention, nutrition and identifying high risk red flags. Carries out other duties from time to time be directed. Carries out all duties in a safe manner having regard for the health, safety and welfare of self, staff, residents and other persons within Villa Care. Ensuring confidentiality and the secure maintenance of patient data.
