Overview
                                FINANCE MANAGER - PERM - 30-35Kpa - BIRMINGHAM You will have strategic oversight of the finance and credit & risk teams and will be responsible for driving performance and developing the individuals in those teams on an ongoing basis, ensuring continuous professional development of all direct reports. Your responsibilities also extend to working with all departments to oversee budget and support with strategic finance management in all areas of the business. You will also need to build strong relationships with external stakeholders like the HMRC, accountants, banks and creditors to enable strong partnerships at all levels to ensure we are able to work effectively together when necessary. You will also hold overall responsibility for manging monthly accounts, ensuring Xero is kept up to date in preparation for Accountants submitting returns and accounts, and adherence to all relevant internal and external compliance criteria. Key Responsibilities  Overall responsibility for the day to operation of the Finance Department  Oversight of the Credit & Risk team  Reporting on performance of Credit & Risk Department  Line Management of Finance Administrator  Oversight of Accounts Payable and bookkeeping within Xero  Control over Accounts Receivable (invoicing, direct debit run, customer statements)  Ensure Xero is kept up to date in preparation for Accountants submitting returns and accounts  Create monthly management accounts / P&L  Manage income and expense against cash flow forecasts  Monitor budgeting for all departments  Overall responsibility for compliance within finance department  Liaise with all departments to encourage efficiency and adherence to processes  Liaising with accountants, HMRC and other agencies where necessary  Ensuring the business meets all its statutory and compliance obligations, including statutory accounting and tax issues  Maintain relationships with bank and creditors Personal Specification Some of the key characteristics that make a successful Finance Manager include: - Detailed knowledge of all aspects of financial process and bookkeeping - Close attention to detail and an up to date knowledge of relevant financial compliance regulation - Excellent working understanding of accounting systems (Previous experience of Xero would be advantageous) - Positive by nature with a natural resilience - Advanced Excel practitioner
