Overview
This is a superb opportunity to join a local broker in the heart of Leeds City Centre as a Broking Assistant. Here, you will be allocated your own portfolio of SME clients, with accounts varying in size, dealing with a range of industry sectors such as Retail, Offices, Manufacturing and Tradespeople. You will build a sound professional rapport with these clients, in order to develop an understanding of their businesses, and help create an insurance programme that best suits their needs. You will help administer any mid-term amendments to their insurance policies, such as adding a vehicle to their policy, issue documentation, or answer any day to day queries that may arise. You will also negotiate with insurers to secure your clients the most comprehensive cover at competitive premiums at both new business stage and renewal. As the financial services industry is so heavily regulated, you will have to ensure that all advice given, and work undertaken, complies with FCA regulations. To be considered, you will have previous working experience within another broker, with exposure to commercial products. You must also be well-organised, meticulous in your approach, and have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Whilst not essential, it would add weight to your application if you have commenced CII qualifications. As this is a small independent, you will benefit from minimal red tape and have flexible options around your working week, such as working during school hours only if required. You will be rewarded with a salary up to £27,000 depending on your experience, plus 25 days annual leave and pension.
