The successful Apprentices' will have the chance to grow and learn how to support the Businesses customers with varying technical issues; whilst having the opportunity to work and help out in their onsite workshop. Within this role; the successful applicants will gain that crucial on the job work experience; whilst having access to excellent training and all the support needed to achieve an industry accredited Level 3 Qualification in the Infrastructure Technician programme. Your day to day responsibilities will include: • Having the opportunity to learn how to deal with 1st line support activities analysing the issue, asking pertinent questions, ensuring full communication with the end user has been satisfactory. • Learn how to work with the implementation of agreed policies (e.g. Data Security, disaster recovery, Anti-Virus) • Provide prompt, accurate technical and systems support to all users within Gardner Aerospace sites • Have the chance to advise and find suitable upgrades where required • Create site specific documentation for all key systems as outlined by Group IT • Understand how to action Sophos console errors (viruses/HIPS) • Understand how to maintain effective backup processes and alert of any issues as they arise Additional to this, there are other aspects of the role that will need adhering to: Safety: work in line with all accredited company safety standards in order to provide a safe working environment for all Quality: support the quality accreditation's across the business to ensure the delivery of a ‘right first time’ performance Cost: support the continuous improvements in cost reduction activities across the company in order to deliver increased profitability and value for money to our customers and stakeholders Delivery: drive improvement in delivery performance to continually exceed customer expectations and targets People: support organisational capability and influence cultural change by embracing diversity, inclusion, well being and community If you are an individual looking for a rewarding and challenging post where you can impress the organisation with a can-do attitude, then our client is keen to hear from applicants Personal Qualities: Knowledge and Experience: • Technical Problem Solving • Interpersonal Skills • Communication Skills • Good Knowledge and use of Microsoft Office suite of tools Skills: • Knowledge of Windows Operating Systems XP/7/8 & 10 • Experience in supporting users and guiding them to find a suitable solution. • A key part of this role will be interacting and communicating with end users, it is essential you can communicate in a clear and concise manner • Ability to prioritise work based on criticality ensuring SLA timescales are met • Good Knowledge and use of Microsoft Office suite of tools • Ability to resolve issues logically using proven methods, self-motivated with a desire to learn • Do not be afraid to ask for help, you will be learning on the job so it is essential you ask when you find difficulties Training to be provided: The Infrastructure Technician Apprenticeship will enable you to gain the relevant knowledge, skills and behaviours to provide first or second line support to internal and external customers and stakeholders to help them be productive when using technology. By the end of the programme, you will be able to set people up on their IT systems and provide support when needed, rectifying issues to maintain colleagues’ and the organisation’s productivity. Job roles include helpdesk technician, first or second line IT support roles or Network support roles.
