House Parent- Independent School Location: London Start Date: September 2020 Contract: Permanent and Full Time Salary: Competitive Our client is a well-regarded independent senior school, situated in the heart of London. The school has excellent facilities and an excellent central location and is now seeking a House Parent to join the staff team. To be considered for the position of House Parent, previous boarding experience, with knowledge of safeguarding, would be greatly beneficial. Importantly, the House Parent will bring enthusiasm and ability to work on your own initiative. The House Parent is required to know each student and be concerned for their development - academic, social and personal welfare. The House Parent will ensure the safeguarding of each student is required and the school boarding pupils are fully supported in your care. Summary of the role: The House Parent will be providing senior school pupils support with their welfare and wellbeing. This role is offered as a residential post. Working with an excellent boarding team, you will be working to the boarding rota. This includes vital input into the student's social activities calendar, at weekend and evening The House Parent will also maintain up to date student files and promote a supportive culture. House Parent Essential criteria: Experience of a working in a boarding schools environment Knowledge and experience of UK legislation relating to the welfare of young people Certified at the enhanced DBS level (check undertaken prior to employment) Enthusiasm for working with young pupils and ability to support students from diverse backgrounds Some experience within a welfare/pastoral role type role and/or working with young people Ability to maintain good, up to date, files for boarding pupils Desirable; Student Services experience in the education sector desirable Interviews are taking place upon receipt of applications.
