Overview
Urgent requirement - SQL DBA Fantastic opportunity for a SQL DBA for a client based in Birmingham. The role will be responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and performance of critical SQL Servers and databases. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and sustainment of the SQL Server Warehouse, ensuring its operational readiness, executing data loads, and performing data modelling in support of the development teams. Key responsibilities Manage SQL Server databases through multiple product lifecycle environments, from development to mission-critical production systems. Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security. Apply data modelling techniques to ensure development and implementation support efforts meet integration and performance expectations Independently analyse, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end. To promote and apply best practice in key security aspects including surface attack reduction, encryption, authentication, patching/updates and auditing and logging. Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes Providing technical mentorship and cross-training team members. Learning new banking concepts, systems technologies and general banking regulations. What is required Extensive MS SQL Server required Experience with Performance Tuning using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools Experience with backups, restores and recovery models Knowledge of High Availability and Disaster Recovery options for SQL Server Experience working with Windows server, including Active Directory Ability to multi-task, Solid analytical, technical and problem-solving skills Financial Services experience This job was originally posted as www.totaljobs.com/job/89769658
