The role has an office base of Quadrant Court, Woking but the area covered is the South West of Surrey encompassing Waverley, Farnham, Ash and Guildford. About the role The Access to Education Service provides individual and small group teaching to students who are out of school. We provide education for students aged 5-16, many of whom have medical, complex SEN needs and/or challenging behaviour. The teaching may take place in a variety of settings, including venues in the community and the student's home within South West Surrey. Access to Education are looking to increase their bank of qualified Teachers. In particular, we are seeking Secondary Teachers in Mathematics & Sciences with current experience of teaching up to GSCE level who are: flexible and innovative with a real desire to make a difference to young people have a 'can do' attitude are able to work flexibly both on their own and as part of a team have the vision and drive to inspire and support others are committed to the progress and well-being of all pupils can engage and build strong effective relationships with all partners and the wider community can create an environment in which all aspire to achieve. You should have good IT skills, preferably with knowledge and experience of Virtual Learning Environments. Experience of working with vulnerable children and young people and Special Educational Needs would be an advantage. You must have a full driving licence, business insurance and use of a car. This role would be particularly attractive to Teachers who would like to have a more flexible working day within the hours of 9:00 to 15:00. Successful candidates should be available for teaching during term time. If you have experience of working with vulnerable children and young people and have IT skills we would welcome your application. Experience of teaching children with a range of complex SEN is essential. Current pupil needs include: SEMH, ASD, ADHD, LD, SLD, MLD, SpLD. It would also be beneficial to have experience of working with children with medical needs as there is the potential for working with students with terminal or life limiting illnesses. Successful candidates will be expected to travel extensively around the SW area, including Guildford, Cranleigh, Godalming & Farnham, so a full driving licence and the use of a car is essential.
