Group VAT Adviser Job, Market Leading Business, Central Belt, £dependent-on-experience benefits Your new company Hays is delighted to be the chosen recruitment partner for a multi-national energy business who are looking to make an addition tot heir VAT Specialist Team in the Scottish Central Belt. This is a brilliant opportunity for a VAT Adviser to join a market leading group with a complex structure and varied business interests, venturing into other industries such as sport and retail. This role is the result of internal promotions, and offers good flexible working and a competitive package. Your new role Welcomed by an established, experienced and small team of VAT specialists you will provide high quality technical support to the ever-changing and acquisitive business. This will be at international group level as well as in relation to the multitude of sub-companies. Your responsibilities will therefore include advising on commercial transaction and business projects, for example in relation to Brexit, new territories and supply chains, to minimise risk and increase tax efficiency. You will provide internal VAT training and be viewed very much as a business partner to stakeholders, assisting with business decisions. You will increase efficiencies in relation to processes and procedures and carry out ad-hoc compliance reviews. Further to this, you will be an outward facing representative, supporting with VAT Audits and managing the relationship with authorities. This is a broad advisory role offering brilliant variety and endless opportunities for technical development and challenges. What you'll need to succeed As the successful individual you will have a proven track record in delivery of VAT advice and planning, in either a proactive or in-house setting. Ideally, you will be CTA/ACCA/ICAS qualified or equivalent. You will be confident in UK and, preferably, EU VAT Law, with excellent communication. You will demonstrate strong commerciality, a passion for indirect taxes and have knowledge of handling HMRC enquiries.
