Overview

My Client is one of the largest LPG suppliers in the UK, with over 30 years' experience providing alternative energy solutions to domestic and commercial customers. With a highly successful business that places people at the heart of our organisation we are currently looking to engage a C & I Technician to be based on their Knowsley or Leicester site, servicing industrial sites across the UK. You will be involved in Client meetings, writing functional design specifications, with 90% of the PLC's being Siemens, knowledge of these systems would be beneficial. This role would suit someone who is looking to come away from hands on daily activity & step away from being the Technician - would suit you if you are looking for code writing to be your next stage. A van will be given for work purposes (limited personal use) & a base desk will be supplied at the Knowsley site, however, when not attending meeting or site you will be based from home & manage your own diary accordingly. Reporting into the Electrical Manager, the C&I Technician will be responsible for maintaining the business plant control systems and the interactions between systems processes . Installation and service of a variety of systems including safety, security, energy delivery (hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical), communication and process control systems. Installation, service and fault rectification duties on measuring and indicating instruments to monitor process control variables associated with PLCs Monitoring of the operation of the PLC and associated equipment. Knowledge & experience required for success in this role: Siemens TIA Portal knowledge; SCADA and DCS Knowledge advantageous; Fully complete apprenticeship; Knowledge of process communications including MODBUS, Profi-bus and Profi-net; Control lifecycle experience; Document creation (Functional Design Specification (FDS), User Requirements Specification (URS); and Process Safety knowledge/qualification Salary offered is approx. £35k per year, 40 hour working week, OT paid for every hour after, with subsistence & accommodation paid if ever required to be away from home, in addition 25 days holiday pro rata, death in service benefit, pension and entitlement of staff discount scheme.
