Purchasing Assistant

The Company: An excellent opportunity for a Purchasing Assistant to join a fast growing, successful, cosmetics company who supply both private label and branded products to leading retailers worldwide. The Role: Ensuring they have the necessary stock to meet delivery promise to customers. Managing suppliers and negotiating. Prepare and issue purchase orders Coordinate supply to meet production requirements. Ensure relevant parties are kept up to date on progress of orders and any potential supply issues (e.g. account managers, production, warehouse etc.). Take personal ownership of all purchase orders placed, ensuring best possible purchase practice Facilitate alternative plans when necessary. Chase orders, making sure they arrive on time as this can affect our ability to fulfil orders on next day delivery Chasing manufacturers. Placing orders and scheduling incoming deliveries. Stock control and inventory management. Reporting on stock shortages and addressing any issues. Planning and coordinating dispatch. Collating management information. Contributing to a continuous improvement culture. Skills Required: Positive, self-motivated and able to work effectively without close supervision Problem solving skills Good maths skills High level language and of computer literacy (Good levels of command Word, Excel, Outlook is a must) Experience in a similar role. Excellent Admin support. Team player. Good communicator. Very organised and work well under pressure Excellent typing skills are essential, with strong Excel skills required.
