Overview
We are looking for a Centre Manager to join our team for approximately 30 hours per week. The duties will be wide, varying and including the responsibility for the day to day running of Wix Equestrian Centre including Animal Feed Shop. This will include: Managing 4 part time staff Taking bookings, invoicing & event preparation Closing the centre 2 evenings per week Working 3 set half day (weekday shifts) in shop per week), plus occasional holiday/sickness cover Some weekend work dependant on number of shows Updating social media, website and other administrative tasks Accurate financial records Generating new business opportunities Health & Safety What we offer Competitive salary dependent on experience. Guide £12 to £15 per hour with pay review after probation. 28days annual leave including bank holidays. Workplace pension available. Ongoing training and development. Background The Centre is based on a working farm in the village of Wix and has been open since 1987. The farm grows a variety of crops including potatoes some of which are sold in our shop. On site there are two indoor arenas, an outside show jumping course, farm ride and cross-country course, which are all available to hire to individuals and clubs. We hire out our facilities for those with their own horses. There is no stabling or livery available. At present we have a variety of shows held at our centre that include jumping, dressage and driving. Other events/activities that we host are dog agility, polo-cross and various teaching days. Our animal feed shop is open 6.5 days per week, offering a comprehensive range of feed & accessories for horses, dogs, cats, poultry and many others. We also offer a delivery service. The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience: Essential Must be able to manage and be part of a team Highly organised Excellent communication skills - including good telephone manner Physically fit and able to carry 15kg sacks of animal feed/potatoes (e.g. loading some customers' cars when necessary) Accurate record keeping Desirable Living locally Some knowledge of horses or animals First Aid trained or willing to attend a one-day course Word / Excel trained, or willing to be trained Some retail experience / event planning Ideally to start late May 2020 Please email CV and covering letter explaining why you are suitable for the job, by noon Wednesday1st April 2020 Click Apply Now
