Overview
SYNLAB provides a wide range of testing capabilities from workplace drug and alcohol testing, food testing, oil and fuel testing, veterinary testing and advanced pathology services through to the most innovative molecular and genetic diagnostic tests available today. SYNLAB work closely with clinicians, hospitals, occupational health providers and clinical researchers to provide a complete pathology offering. We are recruiting for a Procurement Professional on a 9 month Fixed Term Contract (with the possibility of extension) to help with the successful delivery of a major project. Reporting to the Head of Procurement, your role is to support delivery of Procurement activities to ensure continuity of all supply arrangements following transfer of services from the incumbent to the new SYNLAB partnership. Under the direction of the Head of Procurement, your duties will include: Support the compilation of a complete breakdown of incumbent suppliers across all relevant sites by category/ discipline/ product/ service and associated supply agreements or other arrangements currently in place Support the documentation of key terms of incumbent supplier base contracts, identifying termination and other clauses impacting continued service provision Work in conjunction with the Senior Procurement Professional - SYNLAB/ NHS Partnership and SYNLAB Legal to put agreements in place, novate agreements or otherwise implement arrangements to ensure continuity of service Desired Skills and Experience Essential Degree in relevant subject Experience of negotiating commercial supplier contracts and resolving commercial problems Excellent commercial awareness and strong financial capability Strong problem solving and decision-making skills Excellent experience of stakeholder management, working across multiple teams to deliver complex projects Highly developed communication and writing skills Highly motivated and able to demonstrate working to own initiative Desirable Comprehensive knowledge of the health sector CIPD (or working towards) Experience working with NHS and/or private sector health providers
