Overview

We are delighted to be working with a financial services client based in central Cardiff to recruit a Business Executive for their growing business support team. The successful candidate will need to have a proven background in the financial services industry, demonstrating sound business acumen within this sector. An understanding of the role of the intermediary and lender in the secured loans market is essential along with a familiarity with credit bureau data and its interpretation, detailed knowledge of KYC, KYB & AML, together with any compliance related rules and regulations. The environment within the business support team is dynamic and fast paced and would suit individuals who are able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Roles & Responsibilities To ensure that all new business is reviewed within the agreed service levels and according to agreed mandate levels, KPIs, policies and procedures Complete extensive pre-credit underwriting due diligence on commercial mortgage applications in line with departmental procedures which may include, credit searches, including AML procedures, affordability assessments, review valuations, and other supporting documentation as required Help to support and manage relationships with intermediary partners, accountants and other professional introducers, ensuring they adhere to our client’s core lending policies and values Often being the first contact point Oversee, in conjunction with support staff, legal advisers and chartered surveyors, the draw-down process to ensure offered facilities are drawn as smoothly and quickly as possible Identify, assess and escalate all risks and ensure compliance with internal Policies and external regulations (including Customer Due Diligence, Records Management, Information Security, Complaints, Anti-Bribery & Corruption) Adhere to Company Policy incorporating: Broker Complaints, Data Protection Principles, IT Security Procedures and Health and Safety Policy. To comply with and/or ensure compliance with all Data Protection Policies Skills & Qualifications Required An understanding of the role of the broker and lender in the secured loans market is essential Full understanding of the commercial real estate lending process, including legal, valuation and wider commercial risk issues Proven experience in a target driven environment within the Financial Services industry Demonstrable people skills, excellent interpersonal skills, stakeholder management Ability to identify, manage and prioritise workload to complete various administrative tasks in a timely manner A minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at C grade or above, including Maths and English (essential) Appropriate professional qualifications (desirable) (e.g. CeMap, ACIB, Diploma in Business Banking or equivalents) If you are interested in the role and would like more information please contact the team on the usual number or forward a copy of your CV to us.
