Overview
QA Tester - NHS SBS Southampton Job Type - Permanent, Full Time Package - £45,000 3% flex fund, pension, life assurance, annual leave (25 days bank holidays) Working Hours - 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday Role Overview Working in agile teams alongside developers, BAs & product owners. They will work collaboratively to deliver efficient and creative solutions that put the needs of our clients at the heart of what we do. The QA Analyst will ensure quality is baked into delivery. They will ensure that feedback is given to the team, quickly and at the right points, regarding the quality and viability of the service or product being delivered. With a keen eye for detail and excellent communication skills, they must be competent in executing test cases and passionate about quality. About Us Established by the department of Health and Social Care in a unique Partnership with digital experts Sopra Steria, we deliver modern corporate services to the NHS with the main objective to save money and time, as well as continuing to provide world class patient care. Today we provide finance, procurement, IT and employment services to around 40% of the NHS. Over 140 healthcare providers and arm’s length bodies - and every single commissioning organisation in the country - trust us to manage at least one of their corporate functions. Key Aspects of the role will include: Define coverage according to project cost/risk appetite with consideration to the high level strategy (system level /unit level, automated/manual) Validate requirements and define acceptance criteria Direct the creation of tests to reflect the acceptance criteria Adopt and promote an effective 'whole team’ approach to building quality in to delivery Represent QA in "3 amigos" sessions Single point of contact on the team for Test Build a strong understanding of the business / system domain Provide quality governance between the team and external stakeholders Essential Skills: Proven experience as a Quality Assurance Analyst (Tester) or similar role Salesforce Experience of balancing scripted and exploratory testing regime Experience of working on IT projects within the Financial Sector Enthusiasm and passion for working with Agile frameworks / practices Familiar with modern delivery methodology such as BDD, TDD, CI/CD Working knowledge of test management software (e.g. Jira, ALM), analytical tools (e.g. SAS, SQL) and automation software(e.g. Selenium, SoapUI, JUnit) Good knowledge of current thinking within the IT industry regarding "Test" and "QA" Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to work collaboratively within a fast paced, cross-functional development team Exemplary attention to detail Analytical mind and problem-solving aptitude Strong organisational skills Working knowledge of relevant technologies and software architecture patterns such as: SharePoint Online Microsoft Dynamics 365 Azure Platform as a Service Office 365 solutions Reasons why you should join us: We’re big, really big.
