Overview

FP&A Analyst - Support Functions London Role Purpose (Summary) To provide expert financial knowledge and guidance to QBE support functions on their expense management and the delivery of initiatives, including measurement of anticipated benefits. To support senior management team on all aspects of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) and management accounting activity across the Support Divisions of QBE European Operations. QBE support functions include Claims, Operations, Human Resources, Finance and Actuarial and Risk. General Description Develop strong relationships and credibility with the respective support division personnel, and act as a trusted adviser on matters relating to finance. Lead the financial planning and analysis process for the support divisions ensuring accurate tracking vs. budget/reforecast; investigation & explanation for variances arising; and communication of performance to key stakeholders. Add commercial value through delivery of clear, targeted analytics to enable appropriate management action to be taken and commercial value delivered. Undertake effective liaison with and support the wider FP&A team with the financial planning, reforecasting for the support functions. Coordinate the expense allocation review process for the support functions to ensure equitable allocation of support function costs to income streams Support QBE support function personnel with the pursuit of operational efficiency via coordinating the tracking and reporting of the realised benefits from the delivery of initiatives. Or by performing ad hoc analysis and forward-looking strategic projections over the cost base as required Act as an exemplar to the team and the wider finance community of an unshakeable customer-led mind-set Provide financial expertise and support to the Head of Expenses Management on ad hoc project activity within the support functions. Drive continuous improvements in processes and reporting to ensure that the activities of the team best delivers the requirements of our customers. Essential Requirements FP&A experience in the insurance industry. Ability to communicate effectively (both written and verbal), influence and challenge stakeholders within the business. Strong commercial acumen, analytical capability and ability to tell the story behind the numbers Customer-focussed mind-set Strong attention to detail and ability to effectively prioritise team activity
