Overview

Test Manager required by market leading financial services organisation based in the Heart of Cardiff. The Test Manager will lead a team responsible for providing software testing services across the organisation in accordance with the defined Testing Life Cycle and SDLC. The Test Manager will play a pivotal role helping our client achieve its strategic objectives through successful implementation of Test using best practice governance and controls. You will need to be comfortable in challenging the status quo and constantly seeks to look for opportunities to increase their own contribution and that of Test Team. Duties include: Managing Testing throughout the life cycle of the project Provide value-adding advice and guidance working with Software Engineering and Test team Providing SME to all testing activities by means of coaching and mentoring all testers Work in an Agile and/or Waterfall Methodology Communicate directly with client's Work with the Onshore and Offshore model Manage all Stakeholders expectations via project meetings, daily reporting and ad-hoc updates Supporting Head of Test by managing and leading the system test phase throughout the life cycle of the project Deputise for Head of Test as and when required Conduct 1:1's and performance reviews Mentor and support test team individuals Essential: IT specific related Degree/Higher Education Qualification ISTBQ qualified at higher level Experience and knowledge of software development processes and tools Experience of working an Agile or Waterfall Methodology Experience of working with multi-skilled test team, across multiple sites Strong commercial awareness and customer focus Able to communicate at appropriate level of detail to Senior Management, Testers and Developers Ability to motivate and enthuse teams Capable of coaching testers in the test approach and methods to be followed Desirable: Automation Testing Knowledge of financial services products - Mortgages, Loans, Investments and Insurance Experience of working in the financial sector Experience of working with Automation Tools Lead development of automation testing at all layers of the application stage Provide value-adding advice and guidance working with Software Engineering team to help architect applications to shape effective test automation This fantastic opportunity comes with an excellent basic salary from £40,000-45,000 p/a and is accompanied with a 10% bonus, Private Medical Insurance, 24 days holiday (increasing to up to 30 days with service), 6% Pension, Life Assurance, Flex Benefits, Eye Test and an annual Flu Vaccination to name but a few.
