Overview
Your shift starts at 8am so you arrive 10 minutes early , you walk into the office and are greeted by a smile and a warm welcome from the manager and the other staff that you will be on duty with. You may not be a permanent member of staff but you are made to feel like one. You are given a handover and allocated some residents to care for. Once the handover is finished you immediately go to the first room on your list and are greeted by a resident who is pleased to see you. You have a lovely chat with the residents whilst you are tending to their needs. Once they are up and dressed you assist them to the dining room for their breakfast and the resident thanks you for your help. You then go to the next resident and do it all again until you have all of your allocated residents up and dressed ready to start the day. Once all of your residents are up you are able to spend more time with the residents , have a cuppa and chat with them , listen to their stories about their pasts. Before you know it your shift is finished and you bid goodbye to the residents and staff alike.
