Overview
A global, leading media and entertainment business based in Soho are seeking a Head of Finance to join who will oversee the shared services division. Reporting to the Finance Director of Shared Services, this role is responsible for ensuring the completeness, existence, timeliness, valuation and overall accuracy of the Balance Sheet of all of the UK reporting entities and ensuring that transactions are processed in accordance with the business' controls environment and comply with group accounting policies. Main responsibilities will include: Supervision and review of Accounts Payable, General Ledger and Cash & Treasury Teams (Team of 13, managed via 3 direct reports) Maintaining key relationships with the UK business units representing the SSC interests Review of VAT returns, Balance Sheet recs, Balance Sheet analytics, quarterly financial reporting, quarterly intercompany reporting, monthly hedging workings and comments and bank recs, which are completed by the GL and Cash teams. Ensuring that reporting packs are completed within deadlines Ensuring the statutory accounts and VAT returns are completed accurately and to the required accounting standards/tax laws and filed on time. Managing the relationship with the external auditors and coordinating with the business to ensure audit documentation is completed on time Taking a lead on financial systems reviews and projects involving the GL, Cash, and AP teams ensuring systems are exploited to full potential. Overseeing and approving the funding and investing activities of the UK entities Additional project work and analysis to support business Directors Suitable candidates will be qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with a strong background in accounting, particularly in IFRS. You will must have excellent interpersonal and people management skills with the ability to develop and motivate the team. Previous experience of SAP is highly desirable and advanced Excel skills are a must. Ideally you will have prior experience working within shared services or finance operations.
