Overview
PR Manager We are searching for an experienced PR Manager Purpose of the Role This PR Manager role will have responsibility for overseeing media relations and corporate communications in RSM’s London, Southern and Central regions, whilst ensuring its delivery remains consistent with wider national activity and messaging. The role will also be required to lead on PR initiatives that support specific service lines and sector lines on a regional and national basis. Reporting into the Senior PR Manager, you will work closely with senior stakeholders including each of the regional managing partners and office managing partners to support their respective regional businesses or offices. You will be required to work closely with a number of key partners and directors in those regions to spearhead external communications initiatives, with a focus on PR. This person will also take a leading role in establishing an internal capability to keep on top of, analyse and translate ongoing and future government policy that is deemed to be relevant and supportive to the business and communications strategy and ambitions. In order to ensure a collaborative approach, you will have close and regular contact with the wider national communications, brand, marketing and business development teams. The role will be required to travel in order to be seen in each of the regions it serves, although most of your time will be spent in the London office. Responsibilities Advising and supporting heads and senior members of UK regions, offices, sectors and service lines on RSM PR and corporate communications initiatives Working alongside wider communications, brand, digital marketing, social media, design and BD functions to ensure message consistency and deliver an integrated communications and PR programme Establishing and maintaining relationships with journalists via the use of press launches, target market surveys, speaker platforms, conferences, one-to-one journalist interviews and/or meetings to further RSM’s corporate narrative Leveraging existing projects and initiatives to secure appropriate opportunities across various media platforms Monitoring market events, trends and client/competitor activity via sustained market analysis to add relevance to PR and wider communications strategy Using your public affairs experience or knowledge of the UK political landscape to help strengthen and align our corporate, national and regional narratives, and to help establish relationships with opinion-formers and people in positions of political influence Training and nurturing key RSM media spokespeople to positively engage with the press and wider external stakeholders and uphold RSM Brand values and messaging, as well as avoid reputational risk Originating and managing content for press releases, web content, blogs, opinion pieces and paid-for advertorials Leading crisis communications programmes to ensure media scrutiny is minimised and reputational risk avoided To manage and improve effective KPIs / measurement of PR strategy to demonstrate value to senior internal stakeholders Ensure any regional/domestic comms is communicated to the international business where ever relevant, ensuring message consistency Be a key member of the brand and communications team, contributing effectively to meetings, presentations, projects and workstreams, and demonstrating a collaborative approach within the team. Undergraduate degree/MA in journalism, communications, public relations and/or public affairs Substantial experience in PR management in corporate, financial, consumer or agency businesses Experience of working in the professional services sector is essential Experience in public affairs or a marked interest and understanding of politics and policy specifics A professional, credible and confident communicator, both oral and written, with strong influencing skills Ability to communicate effectively with senior stakeholders with strong opinions Ability to work under pressure and at pace Competent project and stakeholder management skills and experience Must have a genuine interest in PR and be proactive and self-motivated individual An active team player with a fun outlook Experienced hire Permanent LONDON - FARRINGDON STREET Marketing 06/03/2020
