Brief Description of job role and department The council's vision is to transform the customer experience across both boroughs, improving outcomes, reducing costs and increasing revenue opportunities. This role is responsible for the leadership and development of the council's websites to ensure they deliver an enhanced customer experience, are fully accessible and become leading national examples of best practice aligning with both councils aspirations to be digital councils. Specific accountabilities ? To deliver the web strategy through user centred design to optimise digital channels for the delivery of improved outcomes for the citizen and to reduce costs in line with the vision of both boroughs to be leading digital councils. ? To ensure the operational functionality of the websites. Using data to continuously improve the websites. ? reviewing content to make sure it's accurate, relevant, accessible and written in line with the council's content guidance. ? make sure your service will meet user needs ? make sure your service is accessible to everyone, including people who have a disability meeting the legislation applicable to Government websites. ? To manage the commercial relationships and contracts for corporate websites and all relevant sub sites and services ensuring excellent performance, accessibility and value for money. ? Based across both Council locations, in proportions dependent upon business need and prepared to travel to both and to use technology to collaborate across sites Budgetary accountabilities ? Website contracts and the management of new web development projects, services and contracts across both boroughs. Representative accountabilities ? Apply professional judgement to interpret and apply policies and procedures to meet specific local or service needs. ? Provide day to day management and professional supervision to staff to ensure operational plans and activities are delivered effectively. ? Identify opportunities for the continual improvement of operations in service area in order to deliver cost effective services that meet agreed quality standards. ? Lead small projects and implement changes and improvements within agreed cost, time and quality standards. ? Where relevant manage service level budgets and resources in order to support the delivery of intended outcomes and demonstrate value for money. Person specification (knowledge, skills, experience and behaviours required in the role) Essential Knowledge and Experience ? Experience at manager level in a local authority or similar public body within Web. ? Extensive experience of website management and digital transformation including accessibility, usability, navigation, search engine optimisation and analytic. ? Extensive knowledge of related technology including content management systems, digital platforms and related systems. ? Extensive commercial experience of managing web contracts and suppliers to deliver positive outcomes. Desirable Knowledge and Experience ? Experience of Jardu and Firm step ? Experience of Agile and Scrum Capabilities and Behaviours ? An outstanding communicator able to engage confidently with customers, colleagues, councillors and partners using a tailored and targeted approach to achieve collaboration and buy in. ? Able to handle data and information to gain crucial insights to grow and diversify the customer contact business ? An excellent relationship builder able to influence and persuade, breaking down barriers to progress, able to think and act creatively and with a focus on delivery ? Evidencing a track record of achieving results and with a commercially astute mindset ?
