Overview
Our client, a busy freight forwarder is looking for an Export Manager to join their office in Felixstowe. The focus of this role is to manage the Export Department and all staff. To ensure that all objectives are established for the distribution of cargo and to maintain safety, quality and legality in line with companies Policy and Procedures. General Responsibilities: Manage the Export Department and all staff within the team servicing all trades. Organise correct Export documentation relating to the movement of cargo including the management of document release in accordance with the Company credit policy. Provide a high level of customer service to retain existing and new business. Provide support and guidance to staff members, ensuring that all export functions are carried out in an efficient and accurate manner within the Global software systems. To assist the UK sales Managers, secure new business and widen our account base increasing volume and maximizing revenue. Liaise with overseas offices, partners and agents. Strong administration skills Ensure all hazardous cargo procedures are followed. Prepare all analytical and statistical data. Specific Responsibilities Monitor vessel utilisation and trade performance ensuring no potential volume is lost. Meet Export customer services KPI’s. Ensure that customer booking requests are answered and actioned quickly and efficiently. Liaison with Principal offices ensuring reports and general administration are up to date and accurate within specific time frames. Manage Customer complaints and dispute resolution. Providing statistical reports to Principal and Internal management as required. Efficient liaison with internal departments to ensure visibility of any issues affecting performance. Liaise with and manage the Booking and Documentation teams including Staff training, desk coverage, and Holiday and sickness management. Ensure B/L and manifest data are accurately completed within Company and Trade lane time frames. Keeping Sales Managers informed of any commercial information, including changes in schedules, port rotations & omissions etc. Assisting Sales Managers in the development of business and management of VIP accounts including customer visits and meetings or bespoke account handling where required. Reporting any competitors’ activities. Checking and passing for payment purchase invoices. A.E.O. & Non-conformance management. Excellent knowledge of IMCO and Out of Gauge procedures and regulations to ensure booked cargo is loaded to intended vessels in accordance with Company procedures. Attend internal meetings as and when required including at the Barking office.
